Scenes from the Season

The Christmas season is usually busy, filled with fun activities and here are some that I captured this year:

Our first gingerbread house...let's just say our first one wasn't that easy.  And how in the world do they get them to look like the picture on the box.  Oh well, the kids enjoyed the task, and we had a hard time keeping them from eating the candy - that nothing but pure sugar candy.  In the days following I found several empty spots where candy and gum-drops once resided.  I'm pretty sure the culprit's name was Avery!

The Alpine Village at Trinity Baptist Church.  We were introduced to this event because Avery & Parker attended their Mother's Day Out program, and for the past 3 years this has been a tradition.  Complete with Christmas crafts in cute little cottages, a trip to the North Pole to see Santa, a puppet show with popcorn, SNOW!, and a huge choo-choo train display in the middle of the room (which the boys always enjoy)

Our first snow!  Though it didn't really stick on the ground, Avery & Carter were quite entertained by its falling.  It was pretty and I think this picture is pretty sweet!

Avery's Christmas program at school...bless her.  I don't think anyone could have been more excited.  Apparently they draw names for the different roles and Avery got to be Mary.  Everyday she told me how she got to be Mary, and what her role was, and how well she played that role, and how they practiced, and who everybody else in her class was playing, and what she was going to wear...you get the picture.  Even the morning of the program she was telling us how she was going to be Mary in the school program that day :-)  And I must brag - she was one sweet Mary.  We were so proud of her.  Man, she's growing up fast!

Parker's class was in the program singing their Christmas songs.  We were very proud of him, too. (failed to get a good picture, though :-(  (need a new camera).  He's come a long way because in the spring at his MDO program he would not stand on the stage and sing.  He had no reservations 7 months later.  We love our school and preschool.  How precious that their Christmas program and many of their activities pointed straight to Jesus.
